I’ve been to a couple of different Hy-Vee’s and most of the Cheerios and Kid’s Cereals are priced at $2.99. Here are some scenarios to help you get boxes of cereal for under $.50 each.

Also, the catalina is NOT rolling. So you can’t take a catalina you received and turn-around and purchase more cereal with it. You can, however, do multiple transactions at the beginning and use the catalinas to purchase other items like fruit or meat on a completely separate transaction.

Starting tomorrow, Hy-Vee will bring back the “Buy (4) General Mills Cereal, Get $4 off with in-ad coupon AND receive a $4 catalina to use on your next order.”

Here are some tips to get the most out of this sale.

1. There is no “sale price” on the cereal, so pricing will differ from store to store.
2. Know your “Buy It Now” price on cereal. For me, it has to be $1.00 or less after coupons.
3. Most scenarios are going to require multiple coupons – which means multiple computers or multiple inserts.
4. Because pricing can vary by store, I’ve provided a pricing range.
5. Discuss with your local store manager how many times you can do the deal per day. Some stores are picky and others don’t care.
6. You can roll your catalina, as long as you have a filler item. Remember, catalinas are manufacturer coupons, so you need to have as the same number of items as you have coupons. (For example, (4) $1/1 Cheerios Coupons + $4 Catalina = (4) Boxes of Cereal + Filler Item)
